Before kids I said no and after I saw the appeal, but i never did it. I just used a stroller instead.
I always said I'd rather a safe child than an injured d**d one or lost. My son had no sense of danger or understanding (he is legally blind in one eye and not the best vision in the other and has autism and brain damage/cognitively delayed a couple years so when he was 2-4 years old he was like a 1 year old and he couldn't sit in a pram as he had outgrown them all) and he was a runner if we turned out head for half second he was gone and he hated hand holding (to sensory for him) but we found a backpack one and worked amazing we had them for about 2 years and his understanding for road safety grew as he got older thankfully and understanding of not to leave us he got to understand that too. So, for us, literal life savers sometimes.
My son is a runner so I got one for him I rather him be safe
At the airport yes! I got lost at an airport and so did my nephew… it runs in the family. We made it a fun thing and attached it to what we call his holiday bag. Passengers at boarding gate laughed but this is what stopped toddler trying to o Go thru connection to a plane that wasnt attached, or back out the gate!
My child is autistic and a runner even now at 6, you fucking bet she had a leash, it was the backpack one with a bear but it was a leash. I rather be called names and all that shit then have my child dead because they ran and I couldn’t catch up. No matter how fast you think you are or how fast you think you can run. A toddler is faster.
I always had wanted to when my kids were toddlers but hubs refused …. So never did . But I don’t judge it at least they’re safe .
Purchased one already and my boys 10 months x
I don’t judge. I don’t personally like them. But you gotta do what’s best for you and your child. I never leashed my first I made him hold my hand and if he refused he’d be picked up which he didn’t like so it wasn’t all bad. My second child is only walking round the house and he holds my hand to go round, never told him to just does it from instinct I guess
I probably will, just cause my anxiety won’t allow me not to 😅
Before kids I thought they were ridiculous lol but now as a mom of 4 - 6 and under I definitely have them for my current middle two. Not so much because they’re not good or run off but because I don’t trust anyone. People are crazy and will snatch a kid so quick. It’s more for their safety than it is anything else. We have the wrist leashes so I attach one side to our shopping cart and the other to them so they can walk and have a little freedom but are still safe
my son is only 4 months now but i will definitely be getting one, after learning how many kids go missing in broad daylight i am absolutely not taking that risk :(
Anyone who is against other people using one has never had an active toddler 😂😭
Used to be against it. Now that I have a kid I'm for it. Mostly because I don't trust ppl. Will be more than likely getting one once my girl can't be carried anymore
Definitely not more me. I don't judge as I see them used a lot more often. I definitely have an active toddler and had one. We manage just fine. Normalize doing what is best for you and your family.
I leash my kid because he's a runner and the world is a messed up place. If I ever get comments I just say "hey I know where my kid is, wheres yours?"
