Redundancy on Mat leave
Just been made redundant on mat leave, excuse being they have lost a few clients and can no longer pay my salary, anyone know what the legalities of this are ?

I don’t think they can do that Job has to be safe for x amount of time after you go back. I work in HR but not legal so worth speaking ACAS X

They can make you redundant with a legitimate reason. If the same work is still available then you should have been afforded protection over colleagues doing the same job. Unless everyone doing the same job has been made redundant? They should look at a suitable alternative role as well, redundancy being a last resort. If they can't place you elsewhere in a similar role and there is genuinely no work for you to carry out, then it's legal
