We were asked on our hospital tour that if we were planning on bringing formula to bring the pre-prepared ones. They said that hospitals often don't have locations that are easy for parents to use for sterilisation other than the small kitchenette areas and they don't want parents queuing up to make formula in the kitchen, especially when you've got babies who might be crying and hungry. It might be worth checking with your hospital if that's the case for them as well, as this is the second hospital I've given birth at and both asked for the prepared formula instead of bottles and powder formula
We took pre made formula with our first as the hospital advised we needed pre made for while there, they also have some pre made there I believe they can supply where needed but not sure all hospitals could provide this! We will need to bring pre made with our second too for this rule. We didnt use dummies, but think Milton also do wipes which could be handy for in hospital!
Ask your hospital. Ours doesn't have the facilities for powdered milk so we're taking a couple of backup pre-made bottles (I'll be trying breastfeeding, just not sure if I'll get on with it or not).
I think every hospital is different but your midwife will be able to clarify. I didn’t take sterilised bottles or formula powder with my 2 children & have been advised this time that you don’t either as they provide the pre made bottles. And I’ve given birth in 2 different hospitals, soon to be 3 x
Cow & gate do a premade formula which actually comes with pre-sterilised bottle teets that just attach on. We have some for our hospital bag just in case they are needed.
I'm going to do them before I go to the hospital and have also packed a few Milton sterilising tablets in case I need to do any at the hospital as not sure what facilities they have.
