@T It’s horrible isn’t it! It just eases and then flares again but doesn’t go for long before coming straight back! I’ve had it most the time too but getting worried about having it during the cervical checks/ birth now as im 38 weeks! Was hoping to try the internal cream pessary at 39 weeks ready for birth as I hate the dry tablets and I can just order the internal cream pessary online. Which pessary have you been using? Are they the tablets? Xx
Thrush is caused by Candida yeast. You can follow a Candida diet and it’ll clear up quickly. Post partum you can hit it with a Candida cleanse (there’s lots of boxed cleanse pill sets you can get). Usually cleanses last 2-4 weeks. You’ll have to be careful because Candida can pop up anywhere on your body and you can pass oral thrush to your baby if you are breastfeeding. I know because I’ve had bad gut and sinus candida infections before. It sucks but it’s definitely fixable.
This has been me also! Absolutely awful! Reoccurring all the time. Must have had it no joke 95% of my entire pregnancy. I’ve been getting the Clotrimazole 500mg pessaries and been doing once a week maintenance dose but then when it’s really bad sometimes I do 5-7 consecutive nights. There isn’t much else they can give you right now. I’m just waiting for baby to be born and then will take fluconazole oral tablets and then if that doesn’t clear it there’s a few other things they can try. Have you had sensitivity testing to make sure your thrush is not resistant to clotrimazole or whatever it is they are giving you?
