Reduced feeds

Hello my newborn is 8weeks and he has reduced the rate he feeds. He does not seem interested in feeding. I do combo feeding, breast and bottle. He seems to enjoy breastfeeding than bottle feeding but I am worried that he may not be getting enough from the breast cos I have low milk supply which is why I supplement with formula. Initially when I had him, he enjoyed bottle feeding but has stopped suddenly. He can go/ sleep for hours without crying for food and even when I wake him to feed, he always seems hungry but he ends up sucking little from the bottle and stops unlike weeks ago when he finishes his milk. I have taken him to the hospital and the doctor said nothing is wrong with him but I am really worried. I have changed to new brands of formula and feed bottle and it is still same. Please has anybody been in this situation?

Maybe your supply has increased ? And he’s less bothered about the bottle as he’s more full ?

My twins didn’t like feeding at night, cause they wanted to sleep through the night, they wouldn’t even take the bottles when I woke them up. And at first since they weren’t taking the bottles at night they wouldn’t take them in the morning even though they were hungry, tried different bottles and nipples. It was a trail and error, since they would suck on their pacifiers like they were feeding, I found nipples that felt the same as their pacifiers to them and they went back to feeding just fine throughout the day. They got what they missed during the night throughout the whole day. They were drinking 4 to 6 ounces every bottle at first and it turned into 10 ounces after they stopped feeding at night.

What bottles are you using? Do you maybe need to go up a teat size? My little boy is 8 weeks too and he is a bit fussy on the bottles at the min - I’ve ordered some size 2 teats to see if that helps xx

Thank you all

I have used mam bottles but changed to tommee tippee

@Peace my baby did that as well and I was told the more he sucks when breastfeeding increases milk supply especially if he feeds at night. Now his now on exclusive breast feeding and doesn’t even want to see the bottles he spits it out before even trying and he seems to be growing and gaining weight. Ended up buying a baby scale cause was also afraid breast milk wasn’t enough but well I was wrong now sometimes if I miss a feed when he sleeping I start licking and it alerts me that he missed a feed. And well he even sleeps better now

Wow Thank you so much
