I've found the only way for my little boy to be happy during bath time is to feed him first then get him straight in the bath, otherwise he seems to hate it!
Ours loves the bath but she screams as soon as she gets out until she's fully dressed and swayed again 😭I thought warmed towels will help, nope nothing ☹️
The only way I got my little one to like the bath was having her in the bath with me. I normally feed her whilst in the bath and she seems to like it.
@Amanta So do my twins, I feel so bad! I think they're startled from going from lovely and warm to the chilly open air, bless them
You probably already have but have you tried using a warm muslin to cover him/her up during the bath ? it worked for us my baby started liking the bath, the first times were a tragedy for us. Now when I prep the bath I place a muslin, the towel a body and pj on the radiator so everything is warm and cozy…
When I get my little girl out the bath,‘I have 2 towels so one to wrap her in and then I wrap her in another one, I then just take her legs out and do her nappy before I take her body out and get her dressed, she’s so chilled like that x
@Emma she was fed not long before it 🥲
@Amanta my oldest is the same so we just slowly drain the water out and just go “ohh noo it’s all gone”
@Chiara we use a flannel her and regularly make sure it has the water poured on to keep it warm
@Jess her baths at the moment we try to get it over and done with so quickly, thankfully she was born with less hair than her brother so it’s easier to wash
@sophie I feel like you tried already the bases things maybe it will take a bit more time for them to like it which I know it is horrible cause my baby was a drama queen for the all first month on every nappy we change and I was feeling so sad about it but hopefully she will learn to like soon…
Can you do some practice baths with clothes on? My wee one really didn't like the undressing and it helped doing a few baths just for fun with her onsie on where I wasn't trying to wash her. And I just did top and tail washes in between for a few days until she was more comfortable. She absolutely loves the bath now. I also found that the deeper the bath the happier she was, I think because it keeps her warmer.
My first did this but my second absolutely loves baths. I bath my second every day because she enjoys them so much but my first we would only bathe 2/3 times a week because of how much he hated it. I would also do flannel washes sometimes which he didn’t mind as much. To be honest, it only got easier once he was able to sit up himself so we could put him in a bath seat rather than the lay back recline things. It’s not really even recommended to bath them a lot between 0-6 months. I’m sorry I don’t have a magic answer but time and consistently helped and if they have a favorite toy or something that keeps their attention, maybe they include that if possible. He’s now 5 and has no issues getting a bath!
