Potty training advice

We're on day 4 of potty training, and every poos are a success in the potty. However, pees haven't been a success. I've tried having her completely bare and this didn't help, so tried to keep clothes on and when she's wet herself ill take her to the potty and there her this is where to go pee. I feel like she just doesn't understand what I'm saying. Any help would be appreciated 😊 x

Hi! I am sure she understands but she can’t really hold properly the wee until she gets fully trained and conscious … What made mine more conscious was to wear underwear « like mummy »: I asked her if she wants to have no nappy and underwear instead but I insisted a lot on the fact that we can’t have a wee in underwear that’s how grown up and big girls do , and I was reminding her regularly that she was wearing big girl underwear . I t hi ink that have mine the consciousness and motivation !

We’ve tried on and off with my LO and I’m not fully convinced that she has full control of her bladder yet. She sometimes knows when she needs to go, but then sometimes seems shocked she’s had an accident - like she didn’t know it was coming until she’s mid wee. I want to avoid causing any upset around it, as it can cause more issues. We’re pausing the potty training and coming back to it again in a few weeks. If she asks to go to the toilet we go, but there’s no stress at the moment, some kids aren’t ready at 2

We had a dry night last night (I'm still putting her in nappies at night) and then she done a small wee on the potty then 2 seconds later it was all over the kitchen floor. 🤷‍♀️ I think we're all getting a bit of cabin fever as well bless her. It's like when it comes out she gets excited then stops 😅

I would put my girl on the potty any time she did that silent face lol sometimes with would be every 20 minutes but then even when she didn’t need potty she would push a small wee out

She’s only day 4, accidents will probably happen for a while yet. It’s such a big skill to learn. Just buy lots of knickers and leggings and she will eventually get there. I think we have been slowly potty training since about November ish. Just leaving the potty out, her being bare and choosing to use it on her own. It’s been since February that she’s been completely dry in clothing. You just need to take it at her pace and lots of positivity. Really good she is doing poos on there though as some little ones are scared to do so xx
