I flew with my soon when he was 3 months old and he was fine but my son is vaccinated. There is a measles outbreak in texas rn so i would say just be really careful or just not to fly!
Not vaccinated and my child has been to 7 states and been on 17 planes. Never been sick. First trip was at 2 months.
we did 2, 4, and 6 months vaccines and have now stopped and won’t be getting more. My LO is 13 months old now and we will be flying this weekend
My motto is life is too short if you can go then go holding back because there are diseases in my opinion is stupid. a kid is going to get sick it happens. Don’t stop your life on a chance if something doesn’t happen you will regret it and if something does you are prepared for it. I wish you all the best of luck❤️
Get your child vaccinated. Everyone you know is fully vaccinated. There is nothing wrong with vaccination. There is no provable link to autism. There are higher rates of autism today than 50 years ago because people were not testing for it at the rate they do now, and there is a huge spectrum for autism as well. Don’t take my word for it or any other rando on the internet, listen to your doctor. I’m sure the mother who’s child recently died of measles - something entirely preventable through the research and development of a vaccine from people far more intelligent than you and I and everyone else in this comment thread - is wishing she had vaccinated her child.
@Katie !! Well put!
@Katie the little boy who passed from measles.. yes he had measles but they wrongfully gave him measles vaccine as a course of treatment.. which by cdc guidelines says not to administer vaccines when a child is sick. Who knows if he would’ve made it or not.. based on the wrongdoing of the Dr. Listen to your Dr isn’t always the best choice of action sadly and everything should be questioned and researched when putting anything into your child’s body. Any medical intervention such as vaccines all come with risk. Some people believe if their child is happy and thriving why risk any of those negative side effects.. leading some of those side effects lifelong and devalues quality of life just as much as what some of those diseases can. My grandparents are in their 90s have never been vaccinated, have traveled etc and have always been very healthy.. no cancer, no medical diagnosis of any sort of disease or condition. Ontop of two other people I know who have never been vaxxed & r thriving.
I would research on where you are traveling too and what diseases are at high risk there. And then go from there. Growing up I was always taught just because a lot of people do something doesn’t make it right. Since you’re still on the fence about vaccines maybe set up a holistic pediatric appointment.. they’ll be able to give you clinical sites of vaccines both pros and cons. Not just pros like a normal pediatric. Usually insurance doesn’t cover holistic so you may have to pay out of pocket but being able to make a fully educated choice.. I believe is important when it comes to our babies. Good luck mama 🫶
@Jasmine If he’d had the measles vaccine in the first place he would be alive right now. Think I’m going to keep listening to medical professionals. I expected push back but I really don’t care, if commenting on this can sway a fellow mother to protect her child I will. When people don’t vaccinate their children they don’t just put their own children at risk, they risk the health of children who are too young to have had all their vaccinations. “Everything should be questioned and researched” yes because crunchy granola moms on the internet peddling “metal free” baby’s foods and the like know better than the worlds virologists that have patented these life saving vaccines.
The measles vaccine is only 94% effective when fully vaccinated. So never know for certain of that statement, “would be alive right now”. Did you know that even after getting administered the MMR you go through a shedding process for 2 weeks of the live virus… making babies and older autoimmune people at risk. Stated by the pediatrician my son uses. So the part “when people don’t vaccinate their children, they don’t just put their own children at risk, they risk the health of children who are too young to have had all their vaccinations” doesn’t involve the shedding period risk. It wasn’t pushback.. you tried to use the measles baby’s death as a point and thought you should be informed of the rest of the incident that occurred. I believe everyone is entitled to their own wants and decisions for their children. I’m not saying vaccines aren’t important I’m just saying some of them aren’t necessary and that’s why fully educated choices are important. PROS AND CONS! Then parents choice.
@Jasmine I’m sorry but “only” 94% effective is way better than 0%
@Katie i’m sure that little boys mom would really hate you spreading misinformation about her son and her decisions as a parent. she has spoke out numerous times stating her son could not get the vaccine, it was not something she just chose not to get. Her son also went to the hospital for sickness unrelated to measles.
@Johanca R. With a healthy immune system the chances aren’t zero percent. People who get deadly sick from the measles are generally malnourished very young or older people. There’s a chart explaining this on the cdc site.
@Johanca R. And I wasn’t on here trying to make anyone feel some type of way. But seems I did because my opinion on the matter doesn’t match y’all’s. Y’all believe your way is the right way and the only way. The amount of hate when someone has a different opinion is crazy these days.

In my first comment I stated I respect mom’s decision, but I advised be careful, that’s also my opinion. And yeah scientifically proven it is the right way, getting vaccinated reduces risk of spreading diseases and possible death. I mean, the measles’s was at one point eradicated in the USA and yet here we are.
I stopped vaccinations at 4 months after me & my husband decided to. I flew with him at about 6 months & he was fine.
I wanted to do delay but the thought of my son catching something that was something preventable would kill me more so than beating myself up over vaccinating. Any vaccine, medication, and supplements comes with possible side effects. Weighing the pros and cons is what doctors do. Also when you see the disclaimers of possible side affects on those commercials it could mean 1% of the trial group experienced it- they still have to report it, same for vaccines.
First I wouldn’t listen to anyone telling you their child was fine flying unvaccinated because that may not be the situation for you if a person is on your flight who is sick. In the end it’s what you’re comfortable with 💛 I personally vaccinated my son because he is immunocompromised, so for me the risk of him getting sick isn’t worth it.
Depending on where you’re going, I wouldn’t. Only because there’s a measles outbreak. There’s also a lot of diseases that are carried in an aircraft, fully respect your decision! Just be careful!
