Gas drops and massages. Keeping his upper body elevated also helps. Walks/ drives would also help in soothing the baby
Little remedies gas drops with every feeding, supplemented with formula as he may have not been getting enough milk to feel satiated, Frida windi to relieve gas, and tummy rubs. Every baby is different but these have all helped us.
My daughter loves car rides, so I end up taking her on looooong ones so she’s able to get longer stretches of sleep. I also started feeding her every two hours with less formula to help with gas and reflux. I also just purchased a “Warmies” animal, where you warm it up in the microwave and place it on them. It’s safe for all ages, as long as you’re supervising them. I haven’t received it yet, but I took this advice from another group! Hoping it’ll help calm her! They also smell of lavender 😁
My daughter was severely colicky. We used BioGaia Probiotic Drops, Gas drops, Tummy roll on, Bicycle legs, I Love You massage, Swaddling, Contact naps, and Walking with the baby. Some nights were rough so we would take my daughter in the car and play Mozart Brahms Lullaby so she could stop crying and sleep. All this helped a little but I truly saw things get better at the 3 month mark. She had a sensitive digestive system and at 5 months I found out that she had CMPA. So once we put her on a hypoallergenic formula things got a whole lot better.
My daughter was/is so colicky! We tried everything and it was so hard. It was like nothing I did with my diet or anything we tried to help her really worked. We did it all! All the suggestions are helpful, even if it’s just for my husband and I to be trying something to help her. Ultimately, we just had to persevere. Take shifts, we had family and friends stay overnight for morale and just to have another person bounce her. The exercise ball is great to bounce on and can help you conserve energy when you are bouncing for hours to get a few minutes of reprieve. You are doing everything you can to help your baby. That’s what matters. And they don’t stay miserable forever. My baby still has her days but we are seeing it get better and that helps to give us hope that this is just a phase. You got this mama and you’re not alone!
His little face is so cuteee and grumpy. My first was colic I would put him in his stroller and walk him around the house. So many late nights.
Going through it now. He also has suspected reflux and gas drops make that worse so not an option for him. I use the Frida Windi instead for gas. Likely an upcoming formula change. Long car rides or contact naps so he can actually sleep longer than 20 minutes. The baby delight bouncer. Swinging him in the car seat. Looking forward to better weather so we can be outside. Some times nothing works and its just 9 hours of on and off hell. I love him this little but looking forward to the fourth trimester being over. Im also doing this solo and he is still waking every 2ish hours overnight so Im 🥴 I have family come by for support, an hour break etc. im here for other suggestions as well!
In my family most of our colic babies were caused by lip or tongue ties. Getting those fixed helped so much! It can be so hard to get to the root of why babies are colicky, it’s a symptom not a diagnosis. One of my babies was just very sensitive to formula so we had to use a gentle ease kind and do gas drops. I also tried cutting out possible allergens when I was breastfeeding too.
@Leighann girl I feel you on this so much!
Awwwwww he’s sooo cute but looks miserable!! Hope you find some relief mommas!
Do you bottle feed at all? If so what kind? Sometimes they can get too much air. I love the playtex bottle with the disposable inserts because you push all the air out of the bag. But I also like the philips avent with the green airflow piece.
