Bath

How long after a c section can we take a bath? My legs are so achy I’d love one and I miss them sooo much 🤣

My midwife approved me for a bath after 7 days as my cut had sealed completely shut, I did have a pico dressing on though which aided my cut healing, just said no bubble bath, bath salts etc, just use water but I'd suggest you ask your midwife/health visitor on what they'd recommend for you x

6 weeks

I was told a week however and my bandage/plaster things was off the day after my c-section I think different hospital say different things honestly but I got told it was just because you don’t want the stitches dissolving to quickly x

I waited 8 weeks although my midwife said I could as soon as my dressing was taken off, I just didn’t feel like I could get in and out x

I waited 4 weeks. I was told to wait until my wound had completely healed and all scabs were gone

I was told 6 weeks because of the internal wound from the placenta, not due to the incision.

I was told 6 weeks but at 9 weeks now there’s one tiny part of my scar that hasn’t quite healed over yet (there was a bit of stitch sticking out at first which stopped it!) so I’m waiting until it’s all completely sealed over before I have a bath

My midwife said as soon as the bandage was off. This was about a week after my c section. Just done use any products in the bath like salts bath bombs or bubbles etc x

hmm, I think it's usually around 4-6 weeks, but definitely check with your doc first, cause you don’t wanna risk anything! here's what the 'Heal Baby Care App' says.... "It's generally recommended to wait about 4 to 6 weeks after a C-section before taking a bath, as this allows time for your incision to heal properly. However, if your healthcare provider has cleared you for bathing sooner, you might be able to enjoy a bath earlier. In the meantime, you could consider a warm shower to help with your achy legs. Have you been able to rest and elevate your legs at all?"

I was told not to fully submerge my incision until after 6 weeks
