Plastic Pump Parts

I am exclusive pumping for my second baby and got all glass bottles this time around. However, my flanges and some of my milk containers are plastic. With sterilizing, I am concerned that the heat levels are breaking down the plastic and it’s going to get into the milk that my baby drinks. Has anyone come across this and come up with a solution? My first thought was to not sterilize but my newborn is too young for that so I am at a loss.

If you still want to sterilise without the heat aspect, use cold water Milton. But you don’t have to.

Cold water sterilise? We have Milton in the UK but I’m sure there will be something like that in the US… But also I don’t worry about it, I prefer glass and steel bottles but a little plastic is ok

@Kellie thank you so much!

I never sterilized but my daughter wasn't premie. I was told I didn't have to. I changed the plastic parts monthly, my insurance sent them monthly. I figured that helped. I also kept mine in the fridge during the day and only washed once a night. I like to think they helped.
