Potty training

Hi, mums. I am starting to potty train, but I don't know how or what I am doing. My toddler refuses to sit on the potty (has 2 different types), but she used to sit on them and pretend to wipe after, but now that we are potty training, she points blank refuses. I leave her nappy off time and when she pees or poos she just doesn't act any different. I normally can tell when she is pooing but yesterday I missed it and she had an accident but she astec like nothing. I need some advice and pointers as to where to look for information and see if what I am doing is right or not. Thanks 😊

I think this is really normal - they’re going to have lots of accidents. I would read lots of books about potty to her, keep praising and keep going - accidents will be normal :)

Thanks Chelsea, I am not worried about the accidents it is her lack of discomfort and her refusal to sit on the potty when she used to sit without any issues or prompting. I will look into getting some books 😊

yes i would read potty books to her, my son is potty trained now and we started 2 months ago, but for months before starting he would sit on the potty and id read his potty book, then when we started potty training every time he went on the potty i would read it to him. something else i did was go to the shop and let him pick his own pants, he was so excited to wear them and concentrated more on using the potty to keep them clean so maybe this will work?x

I’m currently thinking about training my little girl and currently reading oh crap! Potty training by Jamie glowacki. It’s very realistic and covers everything with lots of questions and answers and troubleshooting. She also has YouTube, Insta etc so worth looking her up
