Formula mums - when did you move baby to bigger feeds/teats?

My little one is a month old now and on the formula packaging it says from 4 weeks/10 and a half lb we should be moving from 4oz to 5oz. He seems satisfied at the moment with 6 feeds at 4oz and we've realised all of his Mam bottles only fit 4oz so we will have to buy all new bottles! Also, when do you know to move from 0 teats to 1 then 2?

I used to move up an oz when he began to continuously drain the bottle, or he would finish and cry we would know he was ready to go up 🙂 we found the bottle teat would suction inwards where the valve couldn’t keep up was our sign to up the teat flow

Move up an oz when they are completely finishing the bottles. As for teat sizes, my baby is almost 3 months and is still on size 0, we have tried her with size 1 but it just spills all over her. I guess just trial and error see if the baby can manage the next size up, if not go back to what you were using.

We've just upped to medium size teats with mam bottles, we're 14 weeks x

I moved up when I realize she started crying when eating because it means the flow was too slow for her

Agree with the other ladies.. dont always go by the tin.. if your baby drains a bottle of crys after a feed means they most likely want more. They say go up a teet size if it's taking longer then 15 mins to finish a bottle am if there falling asleep during a feed.

I’ve always been on teat 1 and my baby is a month old xx I dunno if that was because he had tongue tie but he took to his bottle x

His always having 2 5oz in the morning snd at night but 4oz through the day but gradually upping it as his draining the bottle and looking for more food x

Thank you everyone!
