When can I take a bath after birth?

I've had a few showers but really want to take a bath. How long after giving birth do you think I need to wait? I had a normal delivery and no tears.

I had tears and got told to bath everyday to clean and soak it all. So I'm sure your okay to have a bath xx

@Chloe hey Chloe - I had stitches for tears and I’ve been wondering this as no one told me I could have a bath and I’m dying to have one. They just told me to wash them every day in the shower with no products... did they happen to tell you when you’re okay to use products in the bath ?

@Rachel they did not no. I've been using products the whole time but I only had two stitches each side. Xx

I had second degree tears and the midwives at the hospital told me that I could have a bath but no longer than 30 minutes. I’ve had showers since giving birth on the 11th March and I had my first bath today, so I waited 8 days 😊

I had an episiotomy stitched up then the midwives ran me a bath straight after birth in the hospital.

I gave birth on the 8th had stitches for a 2nd degree tear and have been having a bath every day. Just making sure not to use any products in there and rinsing off with showerhead after x

I had forceps and episiotomy & my midwife told me on I think day 10 I was ok to have a bath with my own products - she just said to make sure every day to wash downstairs with warm water at least twice x
