What is WIC? Im also out of work as of next week and due May 24th.. been considering starting lyft or uber but got put on the waitlist🥴
WIC is the food/grocery benefits you get with WellCare, Medicaid. Idk about most places but in North Carolina if you don’t have insurance and you’re pregnant you qualify for Medicaid. Idk about married vs not married but yes! I know for me it’s been helpful. And WIC is a nice benefit to utilize. It’s not like hundreds of dollars a month for whatever food you want. Basically the nutritionist will ask you questions and you basically get a list of items you can get per month. Kinda like an extended grocery list. They have an app to keep track of everything which is the most helpful for me personally. You can scan any item and see if it qualifies or what you are able to get still that month. And I get like $50/mo for any fresh or frozen fruits and veggies. That’s my favorite 😍
Sounds awesome! Thank you for the information!
It’s bullsh for me now, had it in oregon no issues now I’m in Washington and they want my fiances paycheck to qualify so basically I’m not getting it anymore, and I have a toddler with another person so it’s just super f-ed up now I’m pretty upset.
@Lis oh wtf. Yeah idk how it works in NC if me and my man were married I probably wouldn’t qualify anymore. I feel like also once I start working I’ll not qualify anymore because they will offer me some other insurance but not sure if my baby will be able to be on WellCare without me.
thank you!! my husband just told me about this too! will definitely apply this week
