Feeling low :(

I have suffered with postnatal depression before, but lost my mum just over 1 and a half years ago and I think I'm struggling. I'm starting to feel ever so low and lonely and feel I can't talk to anyone, not even my husband. I only really have my sister to confide in, Does anyone else feel this way? I'm not sure as to what to do :( xx

Oh I’m sorry to hear this :( are you pregnant or postnatal? Sometimes reaching out for help from someone external to your family can be the best thing to do, there are services and support networks out there! What area do you live in? If you’ve had postnatal depression before then maybe see your GP and ask for a referral to perinatal mental health, they can see you and offer a plan on how best to help you xx

Sending love your way ♥️ Losing your mum must of been really hard. You’ll still be grieving and that’s okay! I would suggest speaking to your midwife or GP too about how you’re feeling. Getting outside as well, sitting somewhere in nature with fresh air around you x

I'm 36 weeks pregnant. And thank you ladies I may speak to someone just I struggle too xx

Oh bless you. I know how hard it is to lose your mum: I lost mine when I was 7 weeks pregnant. Sending love ❤️ to you. I would say go and see your doctor. I'm not sure if they can give you antidepressants whilst pregnant but they might arrange a prescription for when you're postnatal as you've had PND before. They can also signpost you to some support or counselling. I had depression about 5 years ago and had online CBT sessions which really helped. X

Also reach out to your midwife as there should be a midwife based in the hospital who specialises in mental health who can support you x
