Why should you not use sudocreme? 😳. Bepanthen is good. Metanium is also good but can stain clothing!
Weleda nappy cream, closest thing to the yellow Metanium that was discontinued in the UK and also talc as that works wonders for my first xx
Sudosalve if its looking a bit sore. But either weleda or just normal sudocrem x
@Ellie I have no idea! My sister-in-law has just had a baby and the midwife and health visitor said no sudocrem😬. So much conflicting advice!
Sudocrem always worked fine for me! But we love drapoline!
Sudocrem for us, we rarely had to use it with our first luckily he wasn’t prone to nappy rash 🙂
Welleda!
If you can’t use sudo anymore then defo bepanthen x
I use sudocrem when I need a good barrier - I can’t see any reason why you would be advised not to use it unless the baby shows they have a sensitivity to it, but that’s true of any cream.
We switch between an ointment that we were given in hospital after baby was born, and weleda as it was free with boots card. The only thing about sudocrem is it's a more of a barrier cream rather than moisturising cream. It can definitely soothe tho and be more of a preventative!
Tallow darling! The most natural thing there is
Sudocream didn’t work for my daughter specifically but a lot of people recommended it, so I don’t think it’s bad?? She was sensitive to a few products, we ended up using the my expert midwife bum balm
Sudocream always worked best for my son, he had a nappy rash maybe twice since he was born (now 18 months) but that was more due to a stomach bug. Bepantene is also good, anything else didn't work for him
We have always used sudocream with no issues, I think it’s great.

Wvee been told to not use anything unless absolutely needed. With sudocream, it's super important it's a thin layer - if its gone on white it's too thick and then doesn't work. The idea is it creates a thin barrier to protect the skin.
I use Weleda and it has worked so well
Bepanthene is better than S in my book
Bepanthen
I use sudocream as a preventative, and bepanthem for when/if he's looking sore x
Metanium everyday. Sometimes sudocrem, never had an issue
I use sodocrem, works a treat every time!!
Aveeno, it's so easy to apply and it's the only one that clears nappy rash instantly. Plus my little one has eczema x
Sudocrem always seemed to sting when we put it on our son. We used bepanthen
The advice is that you shouldn’t use sudocrem every time you change their nappy - only when it’s needed. Not to not use it at all x
Bepanthen always does wonders for my boy
Weleda is so good x
We did a baby course recently online and it said not to use sudacream and my sister in law has just had her baby and was told the same! Can’t remember why though. I think we’re going for weleda
Sudocrem, no idea why they’ve said not to use it. Sudosalve if it’s sore. Our nursery uses sudocrem too x
I have sudocreme and bepanthen, but only really use if my baby looks a little bit red

@Kim why is this? We use it with every poopy nappy! 😟
We use Sudocreme … this post is the first I’ve heard not to! 😧
@Rebecca because it should be used to help soothe nappy rash, not as a preventative measure. It can irritate the skin if used when not needed
I was told for 8 week try not use anything but can use sudo I'd need
@Kim oh crikey. I thought it could be used as a barrier cream!
@Rebecca tbh I’m sure it’s perfectly fine, people have done it for years 😂
@Rebecca it is a barrier cream, for when the skin is already having issues - not an every day kind of thing :)
@Kim tbf 19 months in and it hasn't caused us any issues 🤣
@Ann-Marie I didn't realise this!
@Deb Yellow metanium was discontinued?? I'm due my second but my first never had a nappy rash as that nipped anything in the bud. I love weleda for bath time but I've never used their nappy cream. I feel so lost 🤯😥
Yeah, it's on their website, and to top it off, they've been putting the everyday cream in a yellow box so people have been buying it thinking they've found it to use it to find its the white one not yellow. X
We bounce between sudo and bepanthen
