Segregated facilities

Do you think the people will really allow and entertain this? Do you think things will go back to how things were?

Honestly, I would love to be able to confidently say that people will not allow this. And I think in some states, that is 100% true. In others, I think that people will try and I do think they will have at least some degree of success because certain parts of the country are literally full of racists. That’s how this POS got into office in the first place.

People have been self segregating the past 5 years. It’s only that now it’s the opposite race that wants to be segregated. Very bizzare work.

Ironically I just taught my son that’s a thing of the past a couple weeks ago (segregation).🥴

@Makayla partially. I know quite a few minority’s who voted for him because of religious reasons (against homosexuality or abortion) etc. I’m curious how they feel about their choice now. Or all the people who say racism doesn’t exist anymore.

Segregation has been alive and well in America even though it is legally over. It just happens differently now, and with enough plausible deniability to avoid repercussions. Things like redrawing school districts so that economically disadvantaged people aren't able to attend, or homes being valued at different prices points based on the race of the owners. I can write a whole essay about this later lmao

Wait, so now segregation is coming back?

@Melissa black people have been segregating themselves the past few years with things like “black spaces” and things of that nature. Very vocal about not allowing white people in certain places and spaces.

Ofc not all, it’s a very small percentage of people but many in America.

@Monica I mean, that I understand. Lgbt+ spaces do the same thing and it's for a reason. I was thinking there was something systemic happening with the US govn't that I missed. I don't go looking for US politics, but it affects us directly in Canada and sentiment filters up here, so I like to know the general political tide.

i’ll post the link to this video too but this lady has such an interesting view on segregation

https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZT2sGhKLB/

Schools are still extremely segregated

i don’t think america as a whole is racist but i think its obviously still there in some cases. but i dont think solving a problem like that with racial segregation is a solution and will just feed into that even more. its very backwards minded in my opinion

Uhm??? There’s too many mixed race families for that. wtf

Trump is or has changed wording that made segregation illegal but it’s honestly a ploy to get people back in the streets protesting. Like having separate bathrooms, entrances and whatever else But let’s be honest black people are the one of top spenders in America if not the top 1. I loved to know my money wasn’t going towards people who didn’t like me. It would likely have the opposite affect at this point cause less people feel the need to fit in spaces that don’t want them. https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2025/03/19/trump-order-prohibition-segregated-facilities-clause/82542389007/

@Fel Exactly. As a white mother of a half black daughter I try not to insert myself into racial discussions too much because I'm aware I don't know nearly as much as I should because of my own privilege, but I'm extremely worried. I cried this morning imagining being out in public and telling her she can't follow me into the bathroom because her skin is darker than mine. I don't know how we as a country ended up here, but I'm beginning to realize it never really went away, it was just pushed under the rug rather effectively.

@Amber just the way you acknowledge that you know you don't belong in every and all discussions about race tells me that you're already doing a better job than a lot of white mothers of biracial children, who use their children as their way into those conversations regardless, or worse, as proof that they can't possibly be racist. Kudos

Slavery was once legal in America…we still have sundown towns. So there’s your answer. Some people will be for it and some people won’t just like slavery, just like sundown towns. There’s still black people and white people that can’t stand each other(it’s mostly older generations).

@Monica I remember the Adele debate! It was crazy. We are just now getting to a point where black women don’t care about others wearing braids.. I personally don’t care either but I’m also not going as far to say that it’s not a touchy subject for many so from another standpoint I think with the hatred still being from slavery and segregation is why a lot of black people want those spaces. That’s another reason why I limit how many slavery movies I watch in a 5yr span…it’s one to none because they make me want to get angry all over again and that’s not healthy. They make the same slavery films over and over again🤦🏽‍♀️it’s exhausting. It’s all exhausting. So from another standpoint, I often think about which of our black ancestors owned slaves too and which ones made that deal with the Europeans and which ones owned black people before Europeans owned them. Some black people don’t stop at segregating from others but from black people as well.

It has been here and never went anywhere. It's funny how all of a sudden it's a topic of discussion and concern now ... Black people have been saying the same thing for ages and now you see what IT IS and can't cope .... Yes, we actually don't mind please do bring it back,black people are ready for whatever you throw at us!!!!!!! Even if it happens. They won't let (((us))) have nothing to ourselves they must always to try to regulate shit or be a part of something that's not for you...or put conditions of control in some various form on what we are doing .....Leave us be. Let us educate our own. And tell our history the way it should be told not the whitewashed bullshit we all learnt. Exclusively to my sistas on this platform as you already know... We're never evaa alone regardless of where we are or what we're doing 👀👀iykyk Sis,you know where to find me!🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾 #TTG 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽BAYBEE

What are you even talking about? The segregation era ended a long time ago. I’ve never even heard of this. Where’d you hear this? The news on your TV? If so then you need to turn that tv off love 🤦🏽‍♀️😑

@Amber honey this is not going to happen. This is all absolutely bogus. America is a giant mixing pot of different races. We’re all definitely pretty mixed up now and not everyone is either black or white 😂

Segregation still exist just like slavery still exist! The world hasn’t changed as much as we think it has. I also want to say, As a black woman I appreciate safe spaces that are jus for me or women like me. Like the group of “black mamas” on this app. Bt some non black mamas commented & said that its “unfair” to have a space jus for black women cuz it would be different if it was a “white woman only group” I think everybody jus wants to feel included X bt “segregation” has & still been a thing. Politically speaking “racial” segregation will always be something they benefit from. “Skin color” wars have been the ultimate way politics have been able to successfully stay divided or to push their agendas! It used to be things like religion, wealth & class etc. bt they figured out race works best! Racial oppression is what they think segregates ppl the most.

@Olivia you seem very naive and just because you're not ready to accept the truth doesn't mean it isn't factual I agree 1000% with everything said in the post above that Jasmin said. I hope it's allowed to happen 🙏🏾This is exactly what black people need🤞🏾to come together & do our own thing.White ppl love oppressing others but then turn around & get FoMO and say it's reversed racism & somehow they feel left out 😭 & want to be oppressed & feel like something is being taken away from them.lt's so funny how they want to always say,"Well what if we say it's a whites only group and non white people aren't allowed?"Yall been saying that?FYI: White ppl killed off native people to get access to their land.Enslaved black people for over 400 years& then have the audacity to say we can't have our own!? Every single time black people brought land to live in peace here come jealous hateful yt people that burn it all down run us off or build an entire lake over our town. You need to have a seat.Listen& learn!

@Claudette ❤️ i apologize for jumping in but just wanted to make sure i am understanding your stance for a second, are you saying you think segregation would be beneficial?

@Claudette ❤️ bruh…what

@Cam I am guessing so…that’s what I got out of it lol. Segregation is not ok at all for anyone.

@Olivia girl bye!!!!! I hate when people like YOU TRY TO SAY What is GOOD OR NOT GOOD FOR MY PEOPLE! Who asked you!?

@Cam HELL YEAH!!!!!!!!!! 💯

Why are you here? This conversation is NOT ABOUT You?

Prime example of what I am talking about 😂😂 FOMO. IT NEVER EVER FAILS TO AMAZE ME. smdh ...y'all just can't help it I swear its like built into your DNA 🤣

@Claudette ❤️ & who is your people? You are one person and an American just like probably everyone else in this post. You’re the one that responded to me sooo….that’s obviously why I responded but nothing you’re saying is even making sense at all.

@Olivia It makes sense to us SO IT DOESN'T HAVE TO MAKE SENSE TO YOU! Mind the business that pays you. And This Ain't it✊🏾✊🏾✊🏾

@Claudette ❤️ segregation doesn’t make sense to anyone except apparently you. It’s wrong and disgusting. Plus I am mixed so idk why you’re hating on me. Idc what anyone’s skin color is. Segregation is wrong. Do you teach this hate to your children? My father was alive during segregation and it was terrible so bringing it back is not an option for America. No one will stand for it.

@Olivia Girl she’s a prime example right there. Like I said they’ve been self segregating the past few years. It’s beyond retarded to say you can’t have an opinion on something that doesn’t apply to you.

@Amber there’s just no way I would do that anyway. I wouldn’t be anywhere both me and my child couldn’t be together.

@Ms.Marie🕸️ girl, Yas to everything you just said

@Olivia you are actually kind of coming off as naive. Are you one of those “racism doesn’t exist anymore” people?

@Monica agreed. 👍🏽

@Fel i think the bigger concern here is the people that actually think segregation is a solution.

@Fel no bc clearly there’s a racist in this conversation ⬆️ (not saying it’s you but that other lady, claudette, that responded to me) there will always be a few idiots out there that a racist. No one can change that but we can change how we view the world and others. Change your perspective, change your life.

@Cam exactly. I just don’t get it at all.

@Cam if you have had the traumatic background that black people have had in this country you would understand it. But you haven’t, so you can’t. I completely get it, however, my husband is white and I would prefer to teach my half white daughter to love ALL of her instead of choosing to prefer to just exclude herself from half of her.

@Cam I think it’s hard for people who have not had to live amongst their oppressors while STILL having to deal with systemic racism all the time to really understand.

I was done with this thread but I had to spin the block on these peanut streets and I will say this only once and then I am completely done. Check it out ! White ppl created racism colorism is a branch off of it. Colonialism is what white people did ALL OVER THE WORLD EVERYWHERE YT PEOPLE WENT SO DID RACISM. But as soon as its "reversed" it's wrong now it makes you uncomfortable. You can't cope w/ the reality of us because YOU live in a bubble. Meanwhile people WHO LOOK LIKE ME don't have that protection or privilege.

@Olivia I didn’t get anything from her that was racist? She’s just been talking about the reality of the situation

@Claudette ❤️ so the solution is to become the oppressor? i’m sorry but the thought process is so delusional and flawed. you have so many people on your side, myself included, to recognize what’s wrong and what’s right but you want to make more enemies for yourself and “your people” and that’s crazy to me. you’ve said enough to make it known you’re apart of the problem and it’s noticed. i’m done here as well.

@Olivia notice how everyone who is black on here understands where she’s coming from? I think you just don’t understand and that’s why you immediately call it racist.

@Monica 1. We don’t say “retarded” anymore… and 2. It’s just kind of pointless and hypocritical to have an opinion about something that doesn’t apply to you. Like what? So you have something to say about something you’ve never lived or experienced? That makes no sense and sounds super ignorant.

@Fel “I hate when people like YOU try to say what’s good for my people” yeah that’s pretty racist. Bc she thinks I am white. Weird af to guess someone race based off appearance and I don’t see why it even matters. There’s bigger problems out here. We are all humans and need to all work together to keep along. Not keep hate going. Just bc I’m not 100% black don’t mean I can’t call out racism when I see it or say segregation is wrong bc it is. 100%
