Baby choked should I still be worried?

My 8 month old choked this morning, lasted around 30-40 seconds I had to do back blows I'm traumatised by it and still can't stop crying and it's been 40 minutes since it happened. Do you see a doctor after doing back blows? I'm worried I've hurt her, she seems okay in herself but I'm still worried. Thanks

Ah lovely, that must have been so scary but be reassured that you had it all under control and did everything you needed too! I personally would get her checked just to put your mind at rest as the back blows need to be hard! I’m sure she will be just fine though 🥰 sending hugs xxx

If you’re ever worried there is no problem too small if you want to talk to a gp! If it helps ease your mind then it’s never a silly thing to do! Back blows NEED to be hard to dislodge what’s stuck. You did the right thing. It’s horrifying I know but you did the right thing and your baby is safe and alive 💜 well done x

Call 111 if you're in doubt and they'll give you the right advice! Well done for doing what you had to do 🩷

You did what needed to be done and you should be so proud of yourself, you helped your little one🩷 if it will put your mind at rest then yes I say either talk to your health visitor or gp. It must have been so traumatic but you did perfect! Well done mum!🩷

I’ve been there ❤️ my daughter choked in public and I had to flip her, point her downwards and give back blows. I stayed calm but afterwards I had a proper cry in the toilets and I still think about it. She’s fine, you just gave her a fright more than anything and it’s over. Well done on staying calm and remembering what to do xx

Thanks everyone! Feeling a lot better today x
