Gestational diabetes…prick prick ouch!

I have recently (last week) been told I have GD and have started monitoring my levels pricking my fingers 4 times a day. The results connect straight to the app and show up in red if they’re out of range. I’ve been told to continue on for another week until I speak to someone but just wondering if a few of the results are out of range but majority are in range what the next steps might be? Just trying to preempt what might happen over the coming weeks. I’m 26+2 and happy to control my diet however I have my baby shower and other family events coming up so can’t be in as much control for some of those meals. Also am I the only one sensitive to so much pricking?? 😂

I hate pricking I asked right from the start if I could have the lebre which they was happy to give to me , I’ve had it changed to Dexcom now but still no pricking 4+ times a day x

My fingers are soooo bruised! I am hating it! They told me if they notice a pattern they will call and talk about next steps, for me it’s my fasting reading before breakfast that’s high all the rest are green, they have put me on metformin now to help bring it down, there’s a call back button on the app maybe press that if your wanting to speak to the team?

I’m on my second week, and feel like it’s taken a little trial and error to know what works and what doesn’t. And also, what a difference exercising makes! I had a few high readings and called up, and they simply asked me about what foods I’ve been eating and if I’ve been following recommendations/exercises etc. But yeah if they notice a pattern, or sugars despite following recommendations, then they’re more likely to put you on metformin I believe. My fasting readings are high, always high, so I’ve been told I’ll likely have to take metformin x
