I sent out what we called the "grandparents' list". It we said it was for suggestions and to show what our son was interested in. Sent it out for both birthdays. We didn't expect anyone other than grandparents to buy exactly what was on it as some things were quite expensive

Yes, it’s okay. Every year for birthdays and holidays, I make a registry! I had my second baby in December 2024 and will be creating a registry for him for his 1st birthday. Matter of fact, I already have created one! I add anything educational/learning books, toys, bigger size clothing, shoes and if they have a room with a theme, add whatever in there too.

I’ll be honest, I don’t send it out because Ik ppl think it’s tacky and my bfs family are very vocal

I keep a list of things my kids ask for and things I think they'd like throughout the year and send it to people who ask. It's not quite a registry but it helps ensure we won't get anything they don't like or more useless clutter

I think they are fine as long as you include options for all budgets.

We do Amazon wishlists for birthdays!

I make an Amazon wishlist for my husband and for me for birthdays and Christmas so I did the same for my toddler for her 1st and 2nd birthdays. It made gifts easy since people knew what she/we wanted but we made it clear they were ideS

We sometimes do a ‘wishlist’ and just share it in our family chat and say ‘no need to bring any gifts but if anyone is looking for ideas we put together a wish list’
