You can absolutely start now 🙂 the whole thing about them needing to be a certain age to be ready is a myth.
Yeah I would go for it if you feel comfortable! My little boy has done this for a while now and he will also randomly sit on the potty but if I take his nappy off he doesn’t want to sit on it! He just says ‘cold’ and gets straight back up 😂😂 The new advice from health visitors (mum works in a nursery and has advice from them all the time) is to start any time after they’re one 😊
Mummy intuition will always tell you when 🥰 If you feel like you can 100% commit and really go for it then do it! If you’re a bit on the shelf still and not feeling confident yet, do some research about it and then start x
Just to say I'm on day 14 with mine. It's been a breeze and it's so much fun and literally getting him to eat food is so much harder than potty training I used tiny potty book by Andrea olson which is specifically for kids 18mo+ whereas other books are for older toddlers. Oh crap is for 20mo+
There’s no harm in trying to see how she gets on, if she doesn’t “click” with it now, you can pop her back in nappies and try again in a few months. Just keep things calm and stress free, and then she won’t build up a resistance to the potty. A few things to consider: - if a child can’t tell you when they’ve done a wee, it’s highly unlikely they will be fully potty trained within a week. That’s not to say it’s not worth trying, but just to manage expectations 🙂 - you can buy special pants that catch the wee/poo but will still give the feeling of wetness that helps a child to know they’ve urinated. If you aren’t in a position to buy these, you can cut up a soft flannel into quarters and pop the flannel in the nappy to give your child the feeling of wet fabric when they do a wee. - independence is so important during potty training. It’s so much easier on the child if they can independently pull up/down their trousers when they need to use the potty xx
