Midwife home visit

My 16 week was a home visit, it’s just a normal appointment with them but in your home, the classic blood pressure, urine check, co test and feel of baby at that stage now they would listen to baby’s too :) she didn’t nosy from room to room don’t worry 😆

That’s what I thought would happen and I’m sat here like shit I have not got my shit together for her to be nosey ahaha 😂😂

Oh I just cleaned the hell out of downstairs 🤣 I was like it when the health visitors visited with my first I was so apologetic about washing being out on an airer in the livingroom she was like it’s fine atleast we can see your washing babies clothes and keeping on top of things 🤣🫣

I’m due mine on the 1st of April, I had one with my first aswell, I can’t remember what happens in them though lol😂🫶🏻

All of mine are home visits. But I think that’s because I have a different midwife group compared to other women because I’m a teen mum and I’m under teen midwife’s in my area and they come to the house instead x

I've never had a home visit =/ I didn't even know you were meant to because I only ever had 1 home visit with my son and that was after he was born

@Danielle no way really! I remember I had least 4 with my lad in 22/23 they came to check my scar and weigh him and give me breastfeeding advice ect xx

I had to go to see them to get all of that. The home visit I had was when he was 2 weeks old and it was literally just to ask me about how he sleeps, feeds and how well he goes to the toilet

Havnt had a home visit since the initial one when I found out I was pregnant x

It’s not a home visit from your midwife it’s your first point of contact with your health visitor everyone has/should have them in the UK x

@Libby-mae oh I have had one with my actual midwife, did with my first too, might just be something they do in this area 😄

@Megan every area is different, this is my second pregnancy and I’ve never had a home visit from my midwife however I know it’s standard to have one visit from your HV while pregnant usually between 28-32 weeks x

It depends on your trust/ hospital but it’s not routine to get a home visit. All I ever had with my first born was a home visit but from the health visitor a few weeks after birth and another one a few weeks later. I never had a midwife come to me, all my antenatal appointments are at the hospital. If you opt for a home birth then from 30 something weeks they will do your appointments at home
