When do they start to branch out of the “lump” phase?

Hi all! I have an 8 week old baby girl. She’s as sweet as can be, but I’m ready for the lump phase to be over! We’ve only had a couple smiles so far that I think were purposeful but it’s hard to tell. She’s starting to pay attention to more things but she’s still not visually tracking much and I can barely get her to look at my face. I know she’s still so young, and I don’t want to wish the time away. When did your little one start getting a little more lively and interactive?

Around the 12w mark! I found visually tracking hard to tell until about 14w. For now just enjoy the cuddles. She'll be on the move before you know it

Make sure you don't forget to smile at your baby- in all the chaos we forget to smile while keeping them alive. You need to smile to get a smile.

It depends on the kid, but you should start seeing a huge difference in the next week or so

@Poonam yes! I realized at some point that when I get the most eye contact is the late night feeds when we’re both still half asleep lol. I’ve been trying to remember to smile at her especially during those times.
