Baby classes/sessions

Anyone know of free or cheap baby classes that I can take my one year old to. Close to the Hanwell area as possible as he naps twice a day so a pain working around that. Happy to cut the morning nap as we really need to get out of the house and be around other people.

No idea where Hanwell is 😅 but if you have a local library that is usually an excellent place to start! Many will have sing along sessions for free. And check any local Facebook groups or local magazines for particular events coming up (eg at churches, village halls, parks etc). Local churches will often also run coffee mornings for mums and babies with small donations. Search for cafes that have soft play areas - for example near me it's free to use and easy to meet other mums. If you're a member of a gym check for baby inclusive classes too. Otherwise the businesses that run baby sensory, singing classes, swimming etc can all get quite expensive and you sometimes have to sign up for a whole term.

Thank you !!! We do use the local library but you have to book in advance and get filled up so quickly so hard to get a spot. We do go to other local libraries but they don’t really have any toys so my little one gets bored and starts wanting to pull out the books 😭😭 Facebook is such a good idea, never thought to check there tbh but will do and will also check out your other suggestions ☺️ Hanwell is in west london so a little far from where you are but totally appreciate all the suggestions x

@Hafsa it could be worth seeing if there is a local group on here or Facebook as they might have better suggestions for your area, however what Sophie has suggested is a great start and I’d second everything she’s said. There’s lots of good library, church hall, cafe sessions near us as well as some franchised groups which are brilliant! I’ll be sad to go back to work next week and miss them!

Have you checked out the local children’s centre? We went to an under 1s group for months and now there’s an under 5s she’s graduated to. Always free as it’s council run

@Jenni I have looked on facebook but I’m not really finding anything however I have found a few nearby churches that I will check out - thank you ☺️

@Emma We do use out local childrens centre for one session and they also have a really good session at the library but it’s really popular and sometimes you won’t get space for weeks at a time 😩
