after just give her some medicine, cuddles and just keep her in something light so it ain’t tight on her thighs, once the initial shock is over, they’re okay. my little girl has her 16 week ones soon and it’s still as nerve wrecking as the first time. 🥹
As others have said, calpol after (aim it against their cheek rather than just in the mouth) and lots of cuddles really! The nurse should talk you through side effects etc; ours went to sensory straight after and was fine, got a bit sleepy in the afternoon / next day and had some raised bumps where the jabs were but that was about it. You’ll be great x
I’ve heard that if they’re asleep just before it can be more painful than if they’re awake before. Also I brought calpol with my to the doctors so I could give it straight after. My little one was quite upset for most of the day but lots of cuddles and skin to skin helped. As well don’t give them a bath that night xx
I was told to give Calpol once we got home and she was settled. It worked well. The second dose less challenging to give but I think it was a combination of witching hour and upset together. She slept a lot the next day and then was pretty much back to normal. It's hard when they have them and they get so upset... But it's over fairly quickly.
Nobody warned me, but sometimes blood can spurt from the baby's leg! She was perfectly fine. It was only when we picked her up. For her second ones, we put her in dark pink just in case 😆
Put her in little leggings so you’re not faffing with a sleep suit and can get to cuddling her straight away. Calpol for after. It’s worse for us than it is for them 😅
