Health visitor

Does any one else’s Health Visitor make you feel like shit? My baby is perfectly healthy, we have NO issues at all, yet because she was born on the 50th centile and she dropped to the 25th and now maintains the 25th it’s like she’s looking for an issue. Like she doesn’t believe me when I tell her my LO takes 5-7oz every 4 hours except over night. I have a very very active baby, she could roll from 5 weeks, when she’s awake her arms and legs and constantly going. Luckily I’m very laid back and don’t let it get to me, but I can’t imagine how others feel if they’re already anxious etc and have a HV like this!

Mines thel complete opposite! I ended up in A&E, because the HV didn't believe me something was wrong, purely based on the fact my LB was "still putting on weight"!! They put so much emphasis on weight gain/loss, it's like they wilfully ignore everything else!

With my little boy I would have whole heartedly agreed! I remember crying there was something not right so worried that they would take him off me! She told me everything was fine and id have to wait until his first vaccinations/6week check (done at 8 weeks because of COVID). Fast forward 2 weeks, he was diagnosed with CMPA having gone from the 50th perctile to the 9th and I was diagnosed with post partum depression. Luckily I have a fantastic GP! We have a different one this time and she has been really good, my little girl hasn't needed any additional support really but she has sourced us some extra support for my little boy who we are struggling with toilet training with! Unfortunately I think it's a postcard lottery. That being said my little girl has dropped the same as yours in terms of percentiles but is continuing to track to 25th so the GP is happy that's just her!! Xx

I never see mine haha, she's been twice

Mine doesn’t answer the phone haha

Same here, my son is the 0.4 percentile and they are super unhelpful. Ignored me about his tongue tie for 7 weeks so I paid privately to do it. Zero help. My first baby’s HV asked me about the rent as her son was looking in the area! Waste of time.

@Becky it was like this only first, it was during Covid and I barely saw her which suited me fine! This time I’ve had appointments every 2 weeks up until 8 weeks! And then one at 12 weeks another at 16 weeks. In wales we have something called flying start were you get extra appointments but I’m not even in a flying start area, so no idea why I’m having so many!! It’s actually driving me mad now. I just want to me left alone 😂

@Steph this happened to me on my first! I phoned about reflux and they never answered so I just switched to the anti reflux milk, tried to phone about constipation got no answer so I went ahead and gave boiled water before feeds. It seems like they’re either all over you or non existent!!

I didn’t feel supported by my HV. I emailed admin and I was assigned a new HV. I just had to explain my reasoning for the request.
