Curly hair

Hey everyone! My toddler has super curly hair and when she wakes up in the morning, it always looks like this! She has a comb but I feel like it still looks frizzy (although in this picture, I haven’t brushed it yet!) Is there any sort of baby safe product or special comb specifically for curly hair that I can use on her hair?

For reference, this is sort of what her hair looks like when it’s not so feral 😂. But it has got more curly since that video

We use some childrens conditioner watered down in a mist bottle - spray on hair before brushing. Never dry brush curls as they go all fluffy! For bed head, people swear by satin (or silk if you’re boujie) pillow cases or cot sheets if your babe isn’t using a pillow yet

@Cesca thank you so much! Will defo buy some children’s conditioner :) xx

i use suave kids curl cream or cantu kids leave in conditioner both work pretty well and i only put a little bit in my daughters hair whenever i do it!

Any kids curling cream or leave in conditioner spray will do, best to put in when her hair is wet. Or as mentioned, conditioner and water in a mist bottle work well on dry hair and never comb when dry. I brush my daughters hair straight at the moment as its still short but I have always used silk sheets in her cot to protect her hair. When shes older, Ill get her a bonnet like me 😅 And ye comb > brush x She has lovely hair x

I recently started using Aussie Kids Moist Detangler spray on my girls' curly hair when it gets frizzy. It has been working wonders on their frizz and curls

I like the child’s farm leave in conditioner spray. As others have said, never brush curly hair while dry so I also have a fine mist water spray bottle too. I use the water regularly and the leave in conditioner once in a while.

Kids products are NOT the same as baby products, and it's important to make note of that. She just needs moisture. I'd add some water and safe carrier oil to a spray bottle and brush/comb her hair. She's still very small

We have been using My Little Coco conditioner on my 2yo's hair for a while now which seems to be helping. We don't use any shampoo and rarely brush or comb it. Truth be told I'm a bit lost with what to do with it as my hair is poker straight 🙈 but it's okay for now at least

Apparently the Nala’s tropical range is really good for curls. They have shampoo and conditioner which I think is for all hair types but they also have a curl range too

@Cesca I second this! I use a satin bed sheet for my baby, since I brought a satin cap for her but she absolutely hates head coverings. Her hair is much less frizzy in the morning

Download the app Yuka! You can scan curly hair products, food, hygiene products and so on. Take her to a curly hair specialist because the products depends on her hair porosity

Coconut oil is good and gentle on babies scalp. I always use it for my baby, I also put some on her face.

we use childs farm leave in conditioner for dry/curly hair. i also only ever brush/comb when it's wet! i have very curly hair and have always done this too xx

also, we got a tangle teezer recently as combing my daughter's hair has been hurting her - this is much easier on her!

Thanks so much for all your help! 🥺

We spray with water and with detangler every morning

That’s how my daughter’s hair looks like in the morning 😂 we use Childs Farm (or Aldi or Tesco version) conditioner and hair detangler spray. We use a detangler brush for after bath and a rat tail comb for when the hair is “dry” (aka with detangling spray - I never brush/ comb her hair when it’s dry).
