We started potty training soon after my daughter’s second birthday. When in nappies she never told me she needed a wee or a poo but she picked up potty training straight away. I would try and see how you get on. You might be pleasantly surprised.

@Lou she’s done a few weeks on it and if she hasn’t got a nappy on she will just sit on it for ages

We literally started yesterday afternoon and yesterday afternoon we had loads of accidents and today he's been amazing and has just been taking himself to the potty and announcing when he needs to go. I'm so surprised by how quickly he's picked it up. I left it so long because he showed no interest and wouldn't care for a wet/dirty nappy but he's done amazing and it's only been 24 hours

@Shannon yeah she’s the same she only had two accidents today but I’ve kept her in nappies still but as soon as they are wet she takes them off and sits on the potty for ages and I’m the same I’ve left it for ages but she hasn’t showed any interest in it

We've just been naked on the bottom or in pants to try and just do it as cold turkey as possible. Trying to change it for now so nappies are only for sleeping now so try and get rid of the association if I can because I know he wouldn't take it off 🙈

We started on Thursday and had maybe 6 accidents since then? We've been pretty much 100% at home though since then and naked from the waist down as much as possible. We did a nap with no nappy and that went fine, 2x 30min car trips and they both went okay, and today we walked round to the park for a little play and no accidents. The main problem for us is the power struggles as we can see he needs a pee but sometimes he really resists going on the potty. He hasn't asked to wear a nappy though so I think he gets it. Just needs more practice. Off to nursery tomorrow for the first time since starting so that will be a whole other story I'm sure!

We couldn't even make a ten minute car journey 🙈 but we had some puppy pads at home so I popped one of those in the car seat which saved it thank goodness because that's one thing I'm not overly willing to take apart to clean all the time 😂

We tried a few weeks ago, was fairly disastrous ending in the entire family coming down with a vomiting big! (I think that was just a happy accident, nothing to do with potty training lol) but we decided to shelve it until Easter when we’re off work for 4 days straight and fingers crossed no one is ill and he gets it a bit quicker!

I think I just need to bit the bullet and go for it I think she’s ready and she’s got nursery tomorrow but we live like an half an hour walk from where she goes so just worried incase she hasn’t an accident whilst we are walking down but definitely going to try in the house and get her out the nappies

We followed the oh crap! book which worked for us. Schedule time when you don’t have to be anywhere and go naked or bottomless. Once the nappy is off, do not put it back on again (unless at night). After a few days of them consistently going on the potty then introduce wearing pants again. Once we got to this point we tried venturing out, and sending her to nursery. Good luck!

We start it from3 months ago He’s doing very well with wee but still not worth poo 💩 he’s 3 years and 6 months old but am not really worry because we trying and for sure when he ready for it he will and we try to make everything easy . But good news we have dry night no nappy in night

I would absolutely go for it. I’ve just been through the whole potty training experience and I won’t lie, it was the most hardest milestone so far! You just have to be so consistent but they will get it. I started off taking my little ones nappy off as soon as she woke up one morning and introduced her to the potty and explained what it was for. I brought a reward chart with stickers, knickers, cocomelon on repeat - the potty training episode and also brought her the step ladder with a seat that goes over the big toilet. She absolutely hated the potty but took to the step ladder really well. I managed to train her within a week. It was hard work I’m not going to lie and I was often questioning myself if she were ready but looking back now, it was actually myself that wasn’t ready and just wish that I would’ve done this a hell of a lot sooner.I found it worked best for us when we had a weekend where we didn’t have to go nowhere so all we done was stay in. You’ve got this Mumma xx

@Lou is definitely second this book too! We followed the same method x

@Abbie where can I get the book from?

@Abbie she sits on the potty all the time, and will have a wee every now and then she’s definitely going to the potty more as the days go on I’m going to get one of the seats for the toilet as well to see if that’s helps more xx

100% just go for it! We were the ones putting it off u think and he's now been nappy free all through the day for atleast 8 weeks or so now. Started by every 20 mins prompting toilet and he would go, and then just did longer between the prompts, poo took a little longer as he seemed a little scared but made it all really positive, rewarded with stickers etc and now we don't even need to ask him to go he just goes! We've done a good 45 mins in car and no accidents, we're going to get a travel potty as we do take his in the boot just incase and he's used it a couple times! Now teaching him to stand at a mini urinal to help when out!

I haven’t started yet and not in no rush. He’s just started telling me that he’s done a poo poo so I’m waiting until warmer weather and he’s a little bit more older. Go for it if you feel like it’s ready but I just wanted to share my views and to not feel pressured with age of the child and different view x
