hmm, maybe try different bottle nipples or even have someone else give her the bottle so she doesn't associate it with you, that worked for us! this is what the 'Heal Baby Care App' mentioned… hope it helps! "Transitioning from exclusive breastfeeding to formula can be challenging, especially if your baby is resistant to the bottle. Start by introducing the bottle when your baby is calm and not overly hungry, perhaps during a time when she’s just a little peckish. You can also try different bottle nipples to find one that she prefers, and consider having someone else offer the bottle to her, as she may associate you with breastfeeding. To ensure she’s getting enough nutrition during this transition, you might also try offering expressed breast milk in the bottle initially, then gradually mix in formula.
My baby didn’t accept a bottle until 6 months, would flat out refuse too and still does sometimes now - try the nuk perfect match, they have a wide teat which is what you need if she’s used to being breastfed. Avoid the bottles that look like a boob, it’s all a marketing gimmick because they know BF babies refuse bottles. I’ve seen reviews saying the teats concave inwards when baby tries to latch and also promotes a severely shallow latch which is no good. Anything like lansinoh, nuk (perfect match) or dr browns (although we didn’t get on with those either because the teat would bend) is your best bet. I think I tried about 7 different bottles and now she’ll take any of them but wouldn’t before 6 months for some reason x If you need any help or advice, the “breastfeeding and lactation support uk” on Facebook is very helpful x
I’m sorry to hear about your health scare and hope you and the baby are all well! I do both BF and bottle feed with my breastmilk but she had no problem with that as she started that in her 4week old so maybe it was easier transition because she didn’t build that preference yet. I have seen on ads of bottles that mimics breasts like brand Emulait. I have never used it but I wonder if those would help .. also have you spoken with pediatrician or lactation? Maybe they could give good suggestions !
