I was made to watch a baby cpr video before taking my bubba home but maybe thats just in Australia idk 🤷🏻♀️
@Kellie Yup. Same In the hospital I am Alabama, US.
@Kellie I'm in Australia but wasn't shown this (vic) but luckily have done my first aid and cpr training a few times (even if currently expired I have compelled it
@Nicole thats aweful, im in qld. It should be something mandatory to watch before taking bubba home :(
@Kellie I’m in Brisbane but didn’t watch any video. Which hospital offers this? Definitely should be offered to all mums. I did a first aid course after having my first bub.
@Jade💃🏻 oh my I would think they’d definitely do it there, I had a premie so I had to be in Redcliffe hospital for two weeks before they let us go with our bub
The thing is, knowing what to do and panicking are two separate things. Just cuz one may KNOW how to do infant cpr or cpr for a small child, doesn’t necessarily stop them from panicking. 🤷🏽♀️ Not to be argumentative or anything, just a personal observation throughout a career in the military and the hospital. You’re not wrong, it is important to learn that, but it could be just as or more important to not panic in stressful situations. 🖤🖤
@Evelynn honestly speaking that’s exactly how I meant to put it 😭 I just feel like we all should’ve been trained or at the least given resources for that so that we don’t over panic because we don’t even know how to go about saving their lives.
I agree! CPR training should be free and given to parents for newborns, kids and adults. It should be part of school’s curriculum
