Is it absolutely necessary to wash new clothes for the baby?

I think it's personal preference, however, they're skin is so sensitive it could benefit as you don't know what's on them from factories

I probably would as you don’t know what the clothes are carrying they have been touched in store and baby can catch anything xx

I would simply because you don't know how long it's been sat in a shop/warehouse and have no idea what could be on them x

I work in the fashion industry and have visited factories, I would definitely recommend washing them 😬

I would say so, I’ve heard from friends that work in buying teams for shops that the clothes come Coated with chemicals to enhance texture and colour, which can be unkind with baby skin. I would wash with non bio sensitive detergent in a high temperature cycle. Heard ironing is not necessary and does not “sterilise”

I wash my own clothes before wearing them so I wash my baby's, too. 🤷

Honestly, why would you risk it? Especially when it comes to your fragile newborn baby! I always wash any new clothes I buy for myself too. Their skin is so sensitive to everything, even freshly washed clothes can irritate it in the first few days or weeks. Their skin has only ever touched yours inside the womb, why should the next thing be something when you have no idea where it’s been?

I absolutely think it’s necessary to wash babies clothes, you never knows little children could of been walking pass them when shopping with parents and sneezed all over them or put their hands all over them, same for a adult not every adult has good hygiene x
