Milton Abroad

Hi ladies, I only microwave sterilise at home and we’re planning on taking a collapsible bucket and Milton tablets to sterilise bottles while away. How often does the solution need to be changed? And what’s the ratio of water to tablet? (I know it says on the packet but I haven’t bought yet and just making plans in my head) Thanks!

Think it’s usually 1 tab to 5 litres and it’s a change every 24hours. I guess you are buying a box of tabs and don’t plan to use them when home then you can just throw the water away after the 15 mins as the box is usually 40 tabs.

1 tab to 5L it lasts 24 hours and you can keep adding to it in that time. You can also use tap water in the bucket too x

@Megan sorry to jump on to your comment- tap water from any country when on holiday?

I got a collapsible bucket and the big bottles of water are something like 6.75 litres so I added 1 and a quarter tablets (1 to every 5 litres usually) and just changed the solution every 24 hours. You can leave items in the solution until you need to use them. I went away when baby was 9 weeks old so had a lot of bottles. I wouldn’t risk using tap water in any foreign country just incase it upset baby’s tummy x

@Nazia we went to Greece and Spain.. washing up and sterilising is ok in tap water as sterilising kills anything and the water doesn’t remain in the bottle only slight residue.. but you would need to use a low Sodium bottled water to make formula x

Milton sterilising is good so convenient 1 tablet and cold water filled to 5litres for 24 hours or u can use the liquid one cap full

Best bet for holiday is bottle
