Frustrated!

Had a call a few weeks ago from St. James Hospital to book in for my RSV jab. Lady on the phone booked me in so I’d be 27 weeks and 6 days. I clarified if this was okay, she said yes. After trying to find somewhere to park for 30 minutes, paying for parking, running to the appointment as I was about to run late because of the parking situation, taking the time off work etc., I’ve arrived at the appointment to only be told I can’t have the vaccine because I won’t be 28 weeks for another 9 hours so it won’t be effective! The lady doing the vaccines didn’t offer any help, just said she can’t do it, ‘bye’. Had a phonecall from reception 5 minutes later asking whether I can come in Thursday or Friday but I can’t get the time off again. I work in private healthcare and always check my appointments first thing and contact them should anything be amiss. However, I always try to think about the NHS being understaffed although we are too, to be fair. Sorry, just a rant to get my frustrations out! Left nearly crying, pregnancy hormones are the worse.

Had this myself but with babies jabs! They let me book. God knows how long it takes to get a newborn out the house. And it was a day too early!

This is so frustrating, i can’t imagine 9 hours would of made a difference 🙃 I always thought every workplace should give you the time off you need for any pregnancy related appointment?

@Alix work have been giving me the time off but it’s not reasonable to keep asking when the NHS are messing up my appointments. They’ve let me have every appointment off but just feel awkward asking again for the same appointment off when I’ve already been given that time off, especially at short notice.

@Hollie I just wish they’d have gotten their information right! I even confirmed whether it’d be okay on the phone when they were booking me in too, they said it was fine! How frustrating for us.
