Their attention span is tiny, and they get bored easily. It's a case of finding things they love and just alternating over and over until nap/feed/bed time. It's time-consuming and can feel like hard work, but I see it as a privilege to get to spend time with my LB. I go back to work tomorrow (part time) so I will cherish our time together even more. I do all chores and meal preps and shower once he goes to bed and before he gets up. Things we do - practice walking (loves going into random room, which i talk to him about). Build towers he can knock down. Eggs(like Russian dolls) he pulls apart, and I name the colours before putting them back together. Ride his scooter, chew his teether, sing, and dance. Practice signing (he just watches, but he reacts to some if he wants such as eat, milk, and water) out for walks talking to him about everything he looks at. Pulling faces, random talking and copying, letting him try things, tickling is a definite favourite 🤣 as well as flying and jumping and reading etc
The wonder weeks app has some great suggestions although it’s not free. They are developmentally appropriate
I find just moving to a different room/space in the house helps mix things up a bit! We might tend to play on a mat/play space mainly but I find my baby loves exploring/taking in a new space! Or a wander round the garden, touching different textures. I guess it's just remembering everything is new for them! I also find being out much easier as that is naturally stimulating for them.
Get a jumperoo? My 7m old loves hers. I umm’d and ahh about getting it as I know some people don’t think they are the best developmentally. But it’s honestly been one of the best things I’ve done. She loves it, and you can play with them whilst in it.
