@Danielle to be fair I’ve been using both, when I ran out of full fat I used semi skimmed!
Ah okay maybe speak to a doctor or health visitor see if there’s any advice they can give? It’s a strange one but it could be a cows milk issue even though he has other cows milk products I think
Oh bless him that sounds awful 😣 Full fat milk is definitely better for children. It’s better for everyone all round as all the others have lots of sugars. If you’ve given him semi skimmed milk when you’ve ran out of full fat, this could be why he’s got a tummy ache maybe. But always best to just check with a doctor. I hope he feels better soon 🫶🏻
What makes you think it’s belly ache specifically? Could it be related to other pains or developmental changes? It would be unusual if he has had plenty of dairy as part of his diet.
@Natalie when he’s got a belly ache he kicks his legs around and has an awful cry, doesn’t burp or fart very easily so I know when it’s a possibility that it will happen that night! He’s also teething but has a different cry for that and doesn’t kick about! No I don’t think so purely because the times in the past when he hasn’t poo’d/ farted in the day I know he’s got belly ache (tight stomach also) as he poo’s like clockwork, after breakfast & after dinner 🤣
@Charlie yeah it’s a possibility!! I’ve bought another tub of formula, going to get him settled then do a slower approach with just the full fat I think!
Our lb was soooo fussy, unhappy and v constipated when we swapped to full fat cows milk and he’s also never had any issues with yogurt or cheese etc so I think it’s just too heavy for their little tummies and maybe a shock to the system. I’m slowly moving to one bottle now and when we are on one bottle I will start to mix that one half and half with full fat again and see how we go. Swapping straight to it for 2 bottles a day + any yogurt or cheese was just too much dairy for him I think!
Oh bless him, it must be that then. I think like you have said, resettling his tummy and gently introducing cows milk might be a best option. You’ll soon know if it’s that once you stop giving it him, I hope it works out soon ❤️
We had that with our little girl when we used full fat milk so we swapped to semi skimmed and really slowly weaned her onto it and she has been absolutely fine with that
