We stopped using it around 2.5-3 (because it broke and we didn't feel we needed to replace it!) then reintroduced it around 3.5 as she moved into a mid-sleeper bed and was working on falling asleep by herself at bedtime. We only use it in the evening when we're downstairs, then switch it off once we come up to bed as she's just across the hall so we hear her easily.
My little girl was about 3, she started noticing it (It had a power light on it) when you google the general consensus is when the child starts noticing it’s there x
Our daughter is two in June and her camera broke about 5 weeks ago. We don’t replace it, and found that we could always hear her anyway. We’ve got a new camera now that we’ll be using for our April baby, but will then put into their shared nursery when baby moves into it around 6 months 😊 You could always keep her monitor with her until you move baby into their own room from your room?
I stopped using it at 1. I can hear her so didn’t feel the need to continue.
Thank you all for commenting! That’s perfect! My little one when she wakes up in the night always makes her way to our room and I always wake up I guess I just like checking in on her and will probably find it weird to not have the monitor to look at! But you’ve all helped so thank you x
I’m a really light sleeper so we stopped using it around 2 and a half. We also put him in a single bed then so he could walk into our room. Stairs obviously baby gated. I think it all depends on the child and parents. I know that I’ll wake up as soon as I hear him get out of bed and if he does come out of his room he comes straight to me and doesn’t wander. He usually shouts for me to go into his bed now though xx
