My Doctor Lives Across The Street From Me!!

I’ll try to keep this brief. I went to an OBGYN office that has 7 doctors. Patient’s hopefully rotate through all of them until they deliver, so no matter what, they know their doctor. Well I got through 6 of them. On delivery day, doctor #7 was on call. I had never seen her, and long story short, she was unkind, didn’t acknowledge my husband in the room, I asked her if I should push and her response was, “if you want to”. She didn’t coach me through anything and was completely silent. It was awful, she had terrible bedside manner. Now..I live in a neighborhood where people keep to themselves, park in their garages and you rarely see most of them. Well, I saw this woman walking the block a few times and she looked familiar. One day she was walking in her scrubs and lo and behold, it was the doctor who delivered my baby. Her husband has even been to our doorstep asking for volunteers around the hood, and he’s lovely. I just realized that she lives diagonally across from me!!! I can see her home from my window. She smiles and waves when I see her randomly on her walks, and I keep fighting the urge to say, “Nice day out, by the way you suck!!!” Anyway….its just awkward and somewhat funny. Would you tell her how she made you feel, or just keep yelling at her in your head? Lol!

I would try to tell her nicely. Maybe she doesn't know how her patients might feel. Maybe it can help her improve and do better for other women she will care for in the future

@Marie you’re right. It’s worth a try. I guess it’s also worth mentioning that she has been delivering babies for 30+ years, so she may be stuck in her ways, or ready to retire. Not sure how well she’ll receive the feedback.

There's a risk indeed... If you feel like it would just make you feel uncomfortable and make it awkward to live next to her, you don't have to say anything. It depends on how you feel about it... Maybe it will help you feel better about the whole situation if you can voice it and make a change. Maybe it's easier to leave it all behind. You have to see what's best for you!

@Marie indeed…I am really bad about speaking up. In my mind, I have the ability to let her know about my experience.

I’d honestly probably leave it. I wouldn’t want to risk an awkward living environment

@TeTe I keep thinking did she deliver at northside Gwinnett 😆

@Gabby Piedmont Eastside 🥴🫠

😫I was just there yesterday

@Gabby ugh!!!! I can’t stand it over there.
