No poop

My breastfed baby went from pooping multiple times a day to once every 3-5 days. I heard that breastmilk becomes “so efficient” that there’s not much waste. But he used to poop like 4 times a day at least and now nadda. Is this other breast feeding mom’s experience as well?

He IS having plenty of pee diapers so I’m not concerned about him getting enough

My baby is the same way, But I also give him formula. I do more breast milk though and he Poops once every 2-3 days

Yep! I was so worried at first but it's completely normal. Mine went 6 days!

Same here EBF and have gone long periods with no poops Our pediatrician confirmed this is expected with breastfed babies 👍🏼

Yes. My baby went from multiple poops a day to one poop every 3-6 days. It's normal for breastfed babies. My girl tends to have poo-splosions though when she goes 5+ days without a poop.

Reassuring to hear! Thanks everyone

Soooo normal!!! I’d say we range from twice per day at the most but more commonly once a week at the least. No rhyme or reason that I’ve discovered. My LO pooped six days ago, then twice yesterday and once today 🤷🏼‍♀️

I was told as long as baby isn’t pushing with no results or is really struggling to poop that it’s not an issue. Mine went alllll the time and then switched to literally pooping every Thursday lol now he’s every day-every 3 days max

Same here!! She goes like once every 3-7 days. I’m like this cannot be okay LOLL. Guess it’s normal!

same but now her poop is thick like peanut butter not thin and seedy she’s so fussy in between poop days 😭

@Saylor I dealt with that for a bit! I was told it was normal but then they told me if he was struggling in between poops that it wasn’t normal so I was so confused. Try tummy massages and bycicles. I resorted to mylicon a few times a day and that’s made a world of a difference! I’ve also had success with Windi but if you use that make sure you have a diaper ready because things happen fast 😅.

What do they mean by struggling? I can’t tell if she’s just grunting or trying to pass stool. She farts with ease all the time.

@Saylor compared to my other kids, this baby is super super gassy. I didn’t think it was an issue but now I know him well enough that if he’s passing gas all day that means he needs to poop and usually results in the thick poop you described. Struggling to poop for my baby is lots of grunting/straining with either no poop or very little. If I see the thick poop I automatically get out the mylicon drops or the windi because I know he needs some extra help
