Please tell me it gets betteršŸ˜…

First full day after my diabetes diagnosis and I already feel like I want to give up! I was just sent to collect a blood glucose kit from the hospital- no explanation on how to use it. After about 12 attempts (and a lot of stress and tears) I finally managed to get my reading only to realise I didnā€™t have the app open to sync with the machine! I donā€™t have appointment for another 3 weeks with the diabetic nurse and just overall feel very overwhelmed with this all. Please tell me each day this gets easier and just becomes routinešŸ˜…

Hi there! It is incredibly overwhelming especially in the beginning as you adjust to it. Hang in there and you got this!

Yes, it does. Itā€™s hard work in the beginning but hard work pays off. I was diagnosed my 1st trimester and been on gestational diabetes diet for over 6+ months and been able to control my diabetes with diet alone. Allowing me to make it to full term 39 weeks and to tonight I get induced. From the very beginning, I was warned most likely I will have to get insulin toward end of my pregnancy. Never happened continued to work hard and kept a steady weight gain . šŸ˜Š

It's fearful in the begining but slowly one gets used to it. Just have confidence in yourself . Follow the diet adviced by your doctor and dietician. Walk regularly after every meal for atleast 15-20 mins. That really helps . And this is only temporary. Your strength and confidence is permanent. You are stronger than you think . Chin up šŸ˜Š
