Dad is in the pic but he tries to touch dad’s stream too 😂 maybe I’m just grossed out because I’m older and I know better.
To him it’s new, my little boy had the urge to wiggle so he could watch it move and the wee go in different directions, personally I’d ignore it and just make him wash his hands and eventually he’ll get bored x
I’d try my best to explain, “That’s nasty, that’s how you can get very sick. Potty is yucky, that’s why we flush it down the toilet. Pee and poop is all the bad stuff that doesn’t belong in our bodies anymore.” While it may be normal for him to explore his bodily functions, it’s also normal for you to use this as a learning opportunity.
I’m not having his problem so I can’t speak from experience, but I have read and seen from different occupational therapists, etc. that you wanna try to avoid linking potty stuff with concepts like yucky, gross. I would suggest either trying to give him something else to do with his hands when he’s going to the bathroom, practising going pee (but not actually going pee) and keeping his hands away from the stream, or giving him an explanation without making too big of a deal of it (so that he doesn’t make the link of when he touches his pee stream, he gets more attention). Something like “ no thank you, we don’t touch our pee. When we get per on our hands, anything we touch can get dirty and make us sick” - but as I say, I’m not speaking from experience! Good luck!!
I would explain that pee goes into the toilet and not onto our hands. Is dad in the picture? Maybe he can model. I think it’s a pretty age appropriate thing to do. He’s exploring his world and his body.
