Mini break toddler recommendations...

Hi, we are staying in Wrexham next week for a mini break with our 21 month old. Please could I have some recommendations of places within 45mins ISH of Wrexham (any direction but not North as we'd end up practically back home) where you can take a toddler. We like country walks and hikes but she doesn't tolerate being in the carrier for long at this age so need things she will enjoy and tire her out before we get some walks in or activities to break up hikes so she gets time out of the carrier. It also needs to be dog friendly as much as possible. I've found some nice waterfalls and walks in 'Clwydian Range & Dee Valley' area and Snowdonia but could do with fun activities near there for her too Obviously near home I know all the classes, activities, playgrounds, farms etc but I have no idea for Wrexham and North Wales areas...
