A paediatric nurse once told me that babies won't starve themselves and will eventually accept the formula they are given. Keep trying. 🤞
Can you express and give mostly breastmilk and a little formula, then slowly reduce breastmilk and increase formula?
I needed my baby to have formula when he was 6 months because I needed surgery and wouldn't be able to bf for at least 24hrs. I tried for weeks before the surgery to get him to drink it but he flat out refused. Babies can be very stubborn and some take to formula and bottles a lot easier than others. My baby ended up going a whole night without any feeds because he wouldn't take anything but breastmilk, and only from the boob, he wouldn't even have my expressed milk. I'd recommend talking to an IBLCL about got to manage this, because if you have a stubborn little bub (like most are 😅) it will be tricky.
Not sure if it will work for you, but my bub didn't like formula either so I started making up a small portion of formula and mixing it with breast milk. Started with a higher ratio of BM to formula and gradually increased the formula over a week or two. Might be worth a shot!
Tried express milk and he would take the milk but not the formula, and I can't feed the bottle, he refuses to take the bottle from me, my mum gives him the express milk and tries the formula too
I feel you Estelle, mine is very stubborn too, will go hunger strike but will not accept the bottle... I feel he is judging me at times as if saying give me my boob why are you giving me the nasty thing🤣
Thanks merry, let me try what you suggested, hope he takes it🤞🏽

My baby was on formula after 6 months of breastfeeding and forming my research and a few pieces of advice from other moms. I tried Bellamy's Organic .
