How much are you feeding your LO?

My son is 2 months and his pediatrician recommended 2-3 ounces per feed. I've been feeding him 4 ounces.

2-3 ounces for twins.

At that age, my little one was drinking around 4oz. If they didn't want it, they would either refuse the bottle or just spit it up from being full.

@Heather my son does the same when I give the whole 4 oz hence why the pediatrician recommended 2-3 oz 😅

I think the recommendation would be from general guidelines for feeding, but all babies are different. Just follow your little ones' cues. You're doing no wrong and giving them what they need.

My son is almost 3 months I feed him 5oz and I’m considering to up that to 6oz soon as he wipes the bottle clean. I think your baby will show you signs whether he’s hungry or if he can take more. I don’t think you should limit it to 2-3oz unless they’re full, vomiting etc even on the formula box the guidelines say a 2 month should have between 4-5oz I’m not sure where this paediatrician is basing their view on?? But hey judging on the fact that they’re an expert I understand the doubt.

My son will be 3 weeks tomorrow and he is bussing down 3 oz each bottle feed. I'm surprised that he is taking in that much already every 2-3 hours.

It takes a bit for the stomach to tell the brain it's full. Try pace feeding

My LO is almost 10 weeks old and she takes 4.5-4oz every feed of mostly formula with a bottle or two of breastmilk. I aim for 20-25 oz per day, but I also watch for her hunger cues. (She usually feeds every 3-4 hours)

my 6 week old has been eating 4-5 ounces per feed since she was like 3 weeks. absolutely ravenous little girl. if she doesn’t want anymore she just spits the bottle out of her mouth😂

My daughter is 9 weeks old, and she takes between 4-5oz, only just upped to 5 though as she was finishing 4 and still seemed hungry and wasn’t sleeping through the day!x
