I’ve seen everything from 14 months to 4 years personally. But I have seen one couple potty train their first with elimination technique by accident I’m not proficient in sign language so I won’t be able to test her theory but still crazy that it happened and it wasn’t intentional. lol
From what I was told, babies are born not wanting to soil themselves. It just that disposable diapers inhibit the need or want due to the moisture wicking properties causing kids to use diapers longer. There is a method called elimination communication which parents can potty trained newborn babies. It’s not easy though and takes a lot of consistency and attention.
1 is a good age. Specifically 18months. I did elimination communication tho, so she been using a potty most of her life by then. We were wrapped up for daytime by 21-22months. Nights is developmental so I'll wait till I see more dry overnight diapers
When LO is ready. We waited and took her lead. We tried every couple of months from 2 and it just ended in a screaming fit. At 3y1m she took her nappy off one day and told us she didn’t need it now she was a big girl and that was it in the day. We had one accident. She was also night dry within 3 weeks
