Epau

Hi all , I had a miscarriage in December confirmed by the Early Pregnancy Assessment Unit at 7 weeks. I’m pregnant again only 4 weeks so very early also so anxious for something to go wrong. I remember vaguely they said I could come back for an early scan in my next pregnancy for reassurance. Has anyone had this before? Did you contact them direct or through the GP?

So when I rang epau in Feb, the person on the phone said I had to be referred by the doctor. My doctor, and subsequently all the staff at epau after said I could self refer. Not sure they'll be able to see much at 4 weeks, and it would be an internal scan. I was 5+6 and they said they may struggle but did it anyway. This may be an unpopular opinion, but I'd tell them you've had some cramping to get seen

I'll also add that I've been through a miscarriage too at 7weeks. Was anxious and paranoid my whole rainbow baby pregnancy. And then had an ectopic which ruptured my fallopian tube end of Feb/beginning of this month. So I'll pretty much do anything to get that reassurance next pregnancy (although as I've had an ectopic I've been told to go in for an early scan now anyway)

@Becci I know I mean for a scan at 8 weeks ish but would like to get booked in now if there’s a wait x

I've never had to wait for a scan, but I don't think they really do "reassurance" scans, only really if there's a reason for concern. Still... I'd be saying you've been experiencing cramps so you get seen. (I could be wrong)
