I didn't have one at my 36 weeks
I've not had a cervix check and I had 36 and 38 week midwife check. X
As others have said already, I didn’t have a check at either my 36 or 38 week appointments. If one is offered (which I don’t think it would be at 36 weeks) you can say no - you can also say no in later appointments or even during labour if you want, they can’t (or shouldn’t) perform checks like that without your consent.
You can decline anything that is suggested. You don't have to consent to anything they say. I can't see why they'd suggest any checks unless they really thought it was needed, and even then, if it's not an emergency you can still decline
You can always say no to anything they suggested
Like everything during your appointments, they should be seeking explicit consent. Cervical checks obviously can give you a good idea of how dilated you are, but aren't compulsory and won't exactly tell you how long you have left to go into labour, or progress, I think it's more an indicator as to how far things have progressed. I don't really want them until I'm in active labour so I will be aware of when it is recommended to push.
I had my 36 week midwife yesterday and nothing was mentioned about a cervix check x
