For those that have had root canals, did you have problems with that tooth after?

I have to get a root canal today and keep reading about pain and sensitivity that people have experienced afterwards that doesn’t go away. Also how is the recovery?

Honestly nothing like a wisdom tooth removal. I had heard so many bad things but it was a walk in the park

Maybe a little sore but nothing bad. And not where near the pain I was in before my root canal

Where is the tooth? They suggested a root canal for one of my back molars, I thought no chance am I having that and asked for it to be removed!

@Frayere its beside my front tooth otherwise I would’ve probably pulled it too!

I have 2 root canals (with crowns over them). Lower front teeth. I only felt pain when they put the pin in them and then some sensitivity after the procedure, but now they’re fine.

No not really, I had 2 done at 1 appointment a couple years ago, it was never really sore for me, by time the novacaine wore off the pain must've been gone. The only issue I've had is my crowns kept falling off after since they filed my teeth down too small to hold the crown in.

I had a root canal on one of my top front teeth about 10 years ago, now maybe longer, no pain or anything, and still looks good now. Like , I had initial pain, but by the next day, it was fine.

thanks guys-just got my root canal done with a temporary filling. Gotta go back in 5 days to do the permanent filling-still numb rn

My husband has had 3 one dentist did the first two the last didn’t accept our insurance so he saw someone else. He had so many issues after. He had sensitivity after and they told him after 6 weeks to let them know if it was still happening. It was and they told him to rub sensidine on it and wait another 6 weeks (because they couldn’t have said that the first time 🙄) and it helped
