Baby hates the car & car seat! 🚘

My baby absolutely hates being put in the car seat and screams hysterically - this continues in the car until she exhausts herself and falls asleep. It’s so stressful and distracting while driving. Anyone else have this or have any advice?

Have you taken the newborn insert out we took ours out and now she likes it ! Also we brought a mirror she she now babbles to herself in that she used to just scream

I don’t have any suggestions but we’re in exactly the same situation, it’s rough!

Following. No answers but we have the same issue. Ours also hates the buggy 😅 so we’re totally reliant on the carrier.

My first baby did this! I tried everything to get it to stop but nothing really worked until he was old enough to play with toys himself. What did help was to try time going in the car for when he needed to sleep. Literally putting him into the car seat either asleep or very drowsy so the car would just do that final bit. But obviously that only worked going to the place x

Following as in the same situation!! I can’t stand the hysterical tears and choking from crying so much so I end up stopping loads! Yesterday did an hour journey which took me 3 hours 😭😭😭 I’m at a loss what to do!!

@Sophie yes we’ve taken it out and have a mirror which she sometimes just stares at haha

@Hannah your back must be killing you 😅 she’s just started fighting the pram too and wants to be carried so I feel your struggle!

@Kirsten I might get some toys for the back of the car or something interesting to look at at least! Agreed it does send her to sleep if she’s realllllyyy tired but I struggle to arrange my whole day around her naps

@Rosie it’s awful isn’t it?! As soon as I stop and take her out she stops crying but starts again as soon as I put her back in!

@Ellie yes!! My baby is exactly the same!! It’s sooo hard!! I don’t know what to do 😭😭😭😭

Does your baby like white noise? You can get portable machines you can attach to the seat! My baby likes a toy on the carry handle and I have to hold his dummy in sometimes with one arm when he’s really bad. Putting him in sleepy helps like Kristen said but god help me if he has a wet nappy halfway home.

@Alex ooh I’ll try white noise and I’ll get a toy I can hang on the seat too - thanks for the advice!!
