How accurate are growth scan?

I went for a growth scan at 35 weeks, and the baby measured in the 93rd percentile. I have another scan booked in 2 weeks. Should I be worried about induction talks?

in my case the scans were very inaccurate. i wouldn’t be worried, especially because inducing for size alone isn’t really a valid reason. i was on the opposite side of the spectrum, they were concerned my daughter was too small but she was born perfectly healthy and average weight, after i declined induction

Mines weren't even the fact that I was diabetic and we teens to have big babies. All mines were smaller than showed.

Ish. They told me at 39+6 that baby weighed 8lb 13oz and her head was 34cm. She was born exactly a week later and weighed 9lb 9oz (so pretty accurate) but her head was 38cm! 😳

Was send for multiple growth scans and was told my baby was big and in the 90% percentile. Was born at 38 weeks weighing 6lbs 4oz 🙃

They can be off by a week or so in size. Both ways..

My scans were on the dot accurate. Baby measured 6 lbs 6 oz days before she was born, and she WAS in fact 6 lbs 6 oz when she came out! Even the on call OB (my OB was on vacation when I went into labor) was amazed! She wanted to know where my OB went to school 😂

In my case both times they were off in the wrong way!! 1st baby predicted 7lb5, born 10lb2oz 2nd baby predicted 8lb, born 9lb12oz Both born via induction at 37 weeks No diabetes, just monster babies that the doctors never believed me about the second time around

My first measured 5lb 13oz at my 36 week growth scan. He came almost two weeks later at 4lb 6oz. So could be accurate but in my case not at all.

for me i was told she was really really small and were talking about inductions, but she was born without induction at 38 weeks at a very normal 7lb 2oz so it wasn’t accurate at all

omg yes my baby was born at 39 weeks and they kept saying she was huge (i can’t remember the percentage exactly but like 80%+) and she was 9 pounds 6 ounces lol

Mine were fairly accurate both times - babies head was 99th centile. But as for induction this is your choice! They can suggest and encourage but ultimately you can decline if you wish too. I had a great experience with this and My midwife monitored my babies size through scans but even with a 99th centile head & other parts she was very happy to let me go to full term - she did also allow me to book in an induction on a date of my choosing as I was quite nervous about the babies size - I felt very empowered to make a choice for myself on this - turns out baby came a bit early anyway and as my midwife predicted her large head was actually very helpful during the pushing stage as it put a lot of power behind my pushes 💪🏼❤️! Always feel confident in the knowledge that this is your birth and your choice and I hope your midwife is as empowering as mine was ❤️!

For me it was very inaccurate. They estimated baby at like 6 lb 5 ounces at my 36 week scan and she only weighed 6 lb 2 oz at delivery at 37 weeks…

I went for growth scans every 2 weeks from 34 weeks and they told me he was on the 14th centile! He was born 39 weeks 2 days and weighed 6lb 14 and was actually on 43rd centile!!

Pretty accurate for me, told I was measuring big- 6lb 6oz predicted at 34 weeks. I had my daughter at 36 weeks (she made a surprise arrival) and she was 8lb 3oz. She would have for sure been a 10lb baby if we’d made it to our induction date.

My first was measuring 98-99th percentile my whole pregnancy, she came out 9 days early 9lb 8oz on 99th percentile. I’m very trusting of them. Currently got a 2nd big baby growing over 99th percentile at 6lb at 32 weeks. Expecting 10lb at 39 weeks section.

They estimated her to be 50th percentile so average. She was born 87th percentile and 3 lbs more than she was

Don’t worry those are usually inaccurate. They told me my baby is 98 percentile. And he came out only 6lbs 😂 we did a lot of growth scan too when i was pregnant.
